How it works

Useful things. Three simple steps.

01

Find it nearby

See what's available from verified neighbours in your Kiez, all within an easy walk.

02

The deposit is held, not charged

€200 held, not charged. It comes straight back when the item is returned.

03

Return it, get released

Bring it back in the same condition. The hold is released and your neighbour gets paid.

Trust, made visible

Built on trust,
not fine print.

Everyone verifies their identity. Every handover is recorded. The deposit protects both sides without taking money out of your account.

Questions, answered

The practical bits.

Nothing buried. If you still have a question, reply to our opening email.

Why a waitlist?

Borrow only works when useful things are close by. We open a Kiez once signups cluster tightly enough that neighbours can actually find what they need within walking distance.

What can I borrow?

Tools, projectors, camping gear, party equipment and other useful things your neighbours already own.

How are people verified?

Every member completes an identity check before they can borrow or lend.

What if something breaks?

We document pickup and return. If there is damage, the held deposit provides a clear way to make it right.

Do I need an app?

No. Borrow launches on the web and works from your phone or computer.

Your neighbour probably has one.
